Daily Rant College

I don’t know about you but I am 47 years old and back in college.  I use to love the “traditional colleges.”  Yes, those that you drive there and sit and take classes.  But, Now I am sold on the online colleges.  Have you taken online classes and if so, how is or was your experience?

I refuse to believe the negativity about online colleges.  What about people who are hearing impaired or disabled?  Both types can benefit from online learning.  I am always the type of person to root for the underdog!

Daily Rant After a flood

Daily rant after our apartment flooded…

Now we have electrician coming  to fix stuff.  OMG….this is just wonderful. Oh well, better than a fire hazard.

I am exhausted.  With college classes and fixing the apartment in one week I just feel like I have no energy.

The Chicago IL winter weather is NOT HELPING.

A friend of mine posted to facebook a three ball snowman on his patio with a bunch of knives into it.  LOL

Atleast I got a laugh.

Have you obsessed so bad that you can’t wait until he calls?  You call him, text him, stop by his work, bring him lunch, wait at his house?

Do you remember your first boyfriend?  You got butterflies in your tummy?  I know I did.  I wanted to look good, smell good, feel good, and wanted to PLEASE him to KEEP him!

Today I challenge you to STOP it.  Put your focus back onto YOU.  Get a hobby!  Don’t schedule your day around HIM.  Stop trying to make HIM happy!

The reason why you need to do this is to see that HE will come chasing after YOU.  Give it ONE WEEK and I bet I am RIGHT.

Questions, Comments, and Observations are welcome in the comments, what have you experienced?

Two Men on Hovercraft save Deer Stuck on a Frozen Lake

A new advertisement for GoPro video cameras not only showcases the device’s capabilities but also displays the kindness of a few Minnesotans.

KAAL TV, the ABC affiliate in southeastern Minnesota, posted a story on Facebook about a couple of deer stranded on ice covering Albert Lea Lake in Freeborn County. One of James Kenison’s friends “tagged” him in the thread. Kenison’s family business is MedCity Hovercraft. The company specializes in all things hovercraft: from lessons and tours to sales and rescue missions.

“I knew right where it was,” Kenison told HLN TV of when he saw the story. “It’s kind of an hour west of where I live. My dad actually lives in Albert Lea there.”

Kenison and his father headed out to the lake and expected the worse, as the deer were on the lake for a few days. But when they arrived, the animals were simply laying flat on the ice.

Wearing an HD Hero 3 camera, Kenison recorded the rescue mission that he and his father embarked on. The duo rode their hovercrafts on to the lake, tied up the deer, and brought them back to land. In all, the Henison’s saved three deer.

According to the GoPro ad, all three returned to the forest after a bit of rest.

The video first surfaced on Kenison’s Facebook page. When the camera company caught wind of it, they decided to reach out to Kenison and obtain the footage.

“GoPro: Hovercraft Deer Rescue” has been viewed over a million times and has north of 13,000 likes since its upload last week. The rescue took place in December of last year.

WOW I am impressed that they SAVED the frozen deer! I am an animal lover and I was touched by this story on yahoo news. I also want to thank all the efforts done to save them. Such an inspirational story for today’s rant. Does this article inspire you? Give you hope? Comment Below.

What would you do if your daughter went MISSING?

In my #1 Rant Post I talked about “Have you had to report a Business to the Better Business Bureau?” My question is? What would you have done if this were you?  Would you report them to the Better Business Bureau or have you do this in your life on a business?  Do share your experiences below in the comments.

IN WELLINGTON, New Zealand a 19-year-old daughter (Danielle) is adrift on the Pacific Ocean as she and six crewmates are on their wooden sailboat, (the Nina). What are they doing?

The police believe that the 70-foot (21-meter) schooner likely sank more than eight months ago after getting battered by a storm as the crew attempted to cross the Tasman Sea from New Zealand to Australia. That’s when the boat’s crew stopped using their satellite phone. A search turned up no sign of the vessel and they believe there’s no real chance any of them are still alive.

The parents ROBIN and RICKY have found it hard to give up the search for their only child. The couple is from Lafayette, Louisiana, and have spent the last three months living in Australia and spearheading their own search, long after New Zealand authorities gave up. This month, Ricky Wright earned his pilot’s license. His aim was to fly the Australian coastline in hopes of spotting something. Anything.

They’ve spent $600,000 to pay for private plane searches. The money has come not only from their own savings but also from fundraisers, friends, family, and even their daughter’s college fund. Deeply religious, the couple says God has kept them strong and determined.

QUOTE: “We cannot assume the boat sank without evidence, and we think it’s highly likely that it did not,”

Robin Wright says. “We know there’s a chance the boat sank.

There is a chance.

But do you assume the worst and stop searching?”

Still, the search has to end at some point.

On Tuesday the Wrights, speaking by phone from the Sydney Airport, said they were returning to the U.S after running out of money and were unsure if they would return to Australia.

I don’t know about you but if my daughter was missing I think I would have found a faster way to look for my daughter.  Maybe money was an issue for the parents. Makes me wonder why they waited so long and what they were thinking.  I also want to know why the parents gave their daughter permission to go on a boat trip and for what cause?

If you have thoughts, or comments I want to hear them!?
